01 TRANSFERRING ASHES

If your ashes are already in a bag you can place them directly into the urn. There is a 3-inch opening so it may require some manipulation. You are also welcome to pour the ashes directly into the base. This video will walk you through transferring ashes with the bag provided.

HOW TO

THINGS TO CONSIDER

Pouring ashes directly into the urn will give you maximum volume as using a bag may add a little bit of bulk. As a rule of thumb, each pound of body weight equals roughly one cubic inch of ashes after cremation. Our small urn holds 9 cubic inches, our medium urn holds 91 cubic inches and our large urn holds 215 cubic inches. Although stoneware is resilient, if the urns meet a hard impact, they can break so it’s advised to keep the ashes in some type of bag. Some might prefer to use a bag of their own choosing rather than the canvas one provided.

02 STYLE YOUR URN

Rituals help us stay connected and grounded. Changing the florals or lighting a candle is a wonderful way to honor those we miss. While the relationship to our grief will change, so will we and our urns have the flexibility to evolve with you. We believe in creating beauty and light even in the darkest of times.

An evolving relationship

Did your loved one have a favorite flower? Color? Styling your urn can be beautifully therapeutic and creative. We love styling our urns using an Ikebana flower frog and dry arrangements. The insides of the urns are also glazed and treated so that you can fill the vase portion with water should you want fresh flowers.

You can use standard 7/8” taper candles, votives, or other shaped candles of your choice. Depending on the candle, you may choose to add additional candle wax to secure the candle in place.

Below we’ve styled our medium urn with an LED battery candle placed in the top portion which warms up any space.

IDEAS + CONSIDERATIONS

03 MORE THAN AN URN

Don’t have ashes but want a place for keepsakes? Use our medium and large urns as a secure place to hold memories. Think of it as an altar that you can come back to when you want to feel that connection.

A VESSEL OF REMEMBRANCE

Write notes to the one you miss to keep the connection alive. Keep mementos or special items all in one place. Anything is game as long as it can fit in the 3-inch opening to the vessel.

04 care instructions

Although stoneware is resilient, if the urns meet a hard impact, they can break so it’s advised to keep your urns away from edges where they could fall.

When moving your urn, we recommend using a towel or gloves to protect your urn from any grease, oils, or residues that may be on your hands.

GENERAL CARE

CLEANING

Clean gently with a soft toothbrush, or sponge with mild dish soap followed by a hand rise. Avoid using aerosol sprays, bleaches, or abrasives. These are not dishwasher friendly but can be washed by hand.
